Baby boy. If I could, I would clone you. Three times. That is how yummy and happy you are. You gave us a little scare a few weeks ago when you lost 8 ounces. You've since gained them back and then some. You are walking, running, climbing, all over the place. I'm so sorry we took you down to visit the grandmas and all their frilly don't touch stuff where you couldn't roam around freely. You like it home, I know. The grandmas, they're not with the program are they?

The other day, you woke up and saw your daddy in the next room and you went and gave him some cuddles. When you had your fill, you just jumped off the couch and nonchalantly said "bye dad!" What's up with that and why hasn't it happened again, little man? You prefer non verbal communication. With the hands and the faces. Oh, the faces!

You're still on the boobie, but we must be putting a stop to that soon (I know, I've been saying that for a while, haven't I?) But really, the digging into the shirt when momma's mid conversation with other folks? I mean come on! Also, we need to have a word about the biting. Not very nice.

I love the way you come running to me with your arms open when you fall down or hurt yourself. It's more often than I care to mention because you are such a little evil kneivel. Mommy says "tell momma everything!" and you sink your little head into my neck and calm down. You love "swimming" in the pool and you forget you're just a little youngin -always trying to pry yourself out of mama's arms.

I wish I could return to you the happiness you have brought into our lives baby boy. God bless you my little baby.

wonder

I know you so well.
I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to spend my every minute with you.
I understand you.
You make me smile, you make me laugh, you bring tears to my eyes.
When you take my face in your hands and kiss me, well, I just melt.
I know when you are tired, hungry, not feeling well, or just bored.
Just before, I thought I saw a hint of embarrassment in your eyes as I stared at you while you played. I wonder what it was about my gaze that caused it? I'm fascinated. And when you walk around humming to yourself, I just can't help myself, I have to scoop you up into my arms and spin around with you.
You are mischevious too. You will touch things you know not to and then look at me with that smile. You even offer me kisses to make it better.
You silly boy. I love you so much.

screeeech.

Let the screeching begin!

That's the new thing round here. SCREECHING. Loudly. In public, even. I need to post an audioblog of him soon because the sounds. Oh my. I need to share them.

Other things

Recently I took Justin and the girls for a walk to the nearby playground so the girls could rollerblade and I could let Justin roam around in the grass. Bad idea. He came home and was covered in a bumpy rash. I'm almost 100 percent sure it was an allergic reaction to the grass he was playing in. It's almost gone now, but you can still see little marks on his legs.

He's running. Still nursing at night and during naptimes. Not a big eater, I'm getting concerned. He doesn't eat enough of the food I put out for him. Most of it ends up on the floor or on the tray as fingerpaint. I'm really not sure what to do about it. He seems to have a bigger appetite at night time, right before he should be sleeping. For the most part I've been encouraging his late night appetite because I figure this is the only time I can get him to eat, but I'm starting to realize that it's not helping him get to sleep at a decent hour.
That's another thing, he's a LIGHT sleeper. He wakes up at the slightest noise and is ready to play. I need to work a few of these kinks out. I'm beginning to wonder how I did it with the girls! It's like I've blanked it all out.
I'm out. I hear sir-screechs-alot calling.

Guess who's got shiny buggers again?

Yup. I took him to get tested for lead HEALTHY as can be and he came back SICK. Ugh! I hate doctors. I hope this cold doesn't last too long, it's about to get pretty out! Poor little guy.

Birthday Boy

I haven't blogged for a while because we were in the process of moving, and it took quite longer than I anticipated to get everything in running order (internet etc) So, I'll be playing a little bit of catch up on this post.

Justin, my little angel is now one year and two months old. On his first birthday, he had an awful cold, but still managed to smile for pictures. He had a Teletubbies cake, or rather two cakes...one for smashing and one for eating. He sure had fun with those. Earlier that day, when I was busy wrapping his gifts, Justin decided that he would continue with family tradition, and take his first steps on his birthday. Just like his momma and his big sister did.

During the begining stages, Justin would take a few steps and when he fell he would just continue on crawling. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that he decided he'd had enough of crawling and began to stand back up if he fell after taking some steps. Now he walks all over the place. I just follow him around holding my breath each time he takes a shaky step. There have been a couple of bumps and bruises already. He just seems to have no fear, this little guy.

Justin's favorite, and pretty much only word at this point is HI. Only it's HI? with a question mark. He "asks" everyone "Hi?" and other slight variations of the word like "Hi-sh?" (you've got to be there, I guess) I'll try to get an audio clip of him saying this just so that I could have it forever.

It is so bittersweet seeing him grow and learning new things. The hugs get shorter as he is anxious to run out of my arms. He is no longer content just sitting in his exersaucer and watching me go on about. He wants to GO! GO! GO! But then it is so wonderful to see as he learns and remembers things like blowing on feathers to watch them fly, and pointing to the kittycats on my pjs when I say MEOW!

Spring time is just around the corner and I can't wait to be able to take him out for walks to the playground. There is yet so much for him us to discover.
